Cats have a specific necessary dietary ratio of calcium to phosphorous. Ideally, this ratio is 1.2:1.0. However, in today's world, many cat owners are beginning to feed their cats homemade raw and cooked diets. This is most of the time preferable to feeding commercial food. However, if you don't have enough bone in your cat's food, the calcium to phosphorous ratio will be off, often as much as 1.0:27.0. This depends on the cut of meat and the type of meat. This serious imbalance will lead to health problems including hypoparathyroidism, which will lead to serious, and often, irreversible and untreatable bone disorders. Kalac is designed to offset this imbalance by providing pure calcium to be mixed with the meat to bring the ratio back to the ideal. Do not use this supplement with commercial foods, or prepared meat mixes which have had calcium added to even out the ratios.

Dosage: 1/2 teaspoon per pound of meat mix.

Ingredients: Calcium Carbonate; Calcium Iodate; Potassium Chloride.
